Thought id have a play with film for a bit and wouldn't mind picking up a cheapish Canon film SLR and kit lens from ebay.. only problem is I have no idea what to go for.
Any suggestions on cameras and general price ranges I should be looking at would be great..

I've just had the same idea and picked up a couple of EOS 3's and an EOS 5 off ebay.
have a look here for the spec of any you might be interested in ...

Yes, another vote for the 3. Great spec, not too old, and not as heavy as the 1 series.

oh ... watch out for the EOS 5 ... apparently the command dial/wheel is prone to failure.
bad design or something.
I bought one and it's fine, but I checked 1st

Thanks all, I'm watching a couple of EOS 3's now, not in a rush so hopefully I can find/win a bargain.
Heard about the dial on the EOS 5's, best avoided I think! and thanks for the direct offers but I think id probably just insult you with any offers given what I've just said above ;)

to give you a guide ...
all purchased in the last couple of weeks
I paid £47 for the EOS 5QD - collected localy
£87 for an EOS 3 (collected due to bargainouse price / low rating ! - make sure not a scam)
and £129 for an EOS 3 with an EF-S 18-55 lens which I will sell to make the camera cheaper. £9.99 post on that one.
I will be selling the 5 and a 3 but want to use them a bit 1st and make sure they are all full working.
