Hi all,i have only had my first dslr since september 450d,i got it with the kit lens (wish i never but live and learn),since then i have bought these lenses to do a bit of everything,17-85mm is second hand mint,100mm f2.8 macro new,and sigma 70-300mm apo dg 1:4-5.6,i would like to get a 10-22mm uwa for landscapes at some point, and maybe a mid range zoom, say the 28-135mm is,
do you think i have the right lenses for doing a bit of everything
regards john.
It depends what you want to shoot! I have load of lenses but most of my work is done with a 24-70mm and an 80-200mm - covers 90% of what I do! Everyone is different though - so it's up to you!

Can you think of any situations when you haven't had the lens you've needed at the time?

I've been reasonably happy with the 18-55 and 55-250 kit IS lenses. especially in good light.
I start looking about to upgrade, and I cant justify the money for that little extra sharpness . It's not like I'm selling bill board posters or anything .
one day maybe .....

nope...but your needs to change over time -back in the film days I used to shoot almost everything with a 24mm or 105mm prime - I never used my 200mm lens then!!
