Please, has anyone here got direct experience of this tripod:

I don't need another tripod.
I have one which doesn't get enough use but maybe because that one is old, aluminium and fairly heavy.
With Christmas around the corner, I ought not be spending money on unproven, no-name brand items I don't need.:bonk::bonk:

I have a good quality light weight tripod, and i find it too light that it moves so might as well shoot hand held.

Look here

Carbon (or any lightweight) tripods are a daft idea IMO

Don't do it :shake:

Unless you have to carry it any great distance. In which case, weigh it down with a bag of rocks or something similar.

If it's going to stay in a studio though, that's another matter!

Really? When you carry them a reasonable distance i.e. onto the beach very early in the morning/late at night etc, then they are worth more than they're weight in gold.

I had a heavy tripod and it just stayed at home and got occasional use in the garden.

Redsnapper tripods have a decent size spung loaded hook on the bottom of the centre column which I have hung my photo bag on to weight it down. Worked a treat last week in high winds taking shots of the moon with a 50D, 100-400 lens and 2X convertor.

:plusone:

why carry extra weight in a tripod when you can just hang you kit bag off the bottom. works for me  The RS carbon tripod isn't exactly featherweight anyway, especially with the ball head.

You're all wimps !!!

If you wanna save some weight - keep off the fast food for a month or two and you'll easily lose more than the weight your overpriced carbon tripod saved you :D
