Right I need some new equipment but not sure of the names etc

so....

One is..... A device that will let my hotshoe work wirelessly

two, can a hotshoe light holder with a gap for reflector umberella fit a normal tripod head? Or does it need a special stand

and the stand thing is called an umbrella bracket and fits on top of a lighting stand.

You CAN mount a flash on a tripod using the foot but not with an umbrella. Lighting stands are not that expensive.

:naughty: Oh yes you can...the fleabay has umbrella brackets that have a removable lump that fits in the slot where the lightstand top would normally go, with a tripod screw fit in it instead. Before I got proper light stands, they were very useful and provided a job for those £25 argos tripods that were hanging around the junk room doing nothing ;)

Mind you, might as well go for light stands from the off if you can.

A light stand at £15 has to be the way to go surely?

Defintely the best option if starting afresh - I just went for the fleadbay route when I was first looking at strobist stuff as I wasn't totlly sure I would use it or really wanted to do it...HAH!! Flash is hardly ever on the camera these days :lol:
