A month or so ago, I bought some studio gear as a lot.
I'm now just sorting through things I actually need and don't need.

But having trouble working out what this item actually does. It's probably something really simple. But can't find any info on the net.

These 2 items came attached together.
The item on the left side is a Manfrotto 222, I know what this does. Usually you'd see this attached to a tripod.

But the item on the right hand side....what is this? Is it designed to attach to a frame or something?
If anyone has a model number for it, that'd be handy too.

looks like you shove a pole through it so you could attach the joystick to a pole, car rig pole?

Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer, but I believe it has to do with a lighting rig!

Thanks for replies.

I think you might be right.

Have just googled some "frame" related search terms and think I've found it.

Looks a bit like this

Looks like it for mounting on a studio camera stand, the kind you usually use with a medium / large format camera in a studio. Basically a pole with legs and oftern caster on the bootom that you can wheel about. Clamps like the one you have would be used to attach the camera, and often a tray and anything else you need.
