Can anyone point me in the right direction to the correct Nikon model?
Decent zoom, small enough to carry around, video clips, manual settings, etc
Thanks in advance
Gary

That's what I thought, but I can't see reference to any video functions???????
do these have a live view screen?
are these better than the normal consumer compacts, lightweight, sturdy, quick fire up and quick focus and easy use?

Not sure about live view, but certainly more control / features than the small point and shoots which are aimed more towards the "auto" crowd.

I believe its only VGA with a mono mic...but then the Canon G11 is the same. If you're after HD with stero then I'd give Nikon Coolpix a miss tbh. Its not want you want to hear, but IMHO the Panasonic FZ38....similar size, good zoom, dolby mic/HD.... But then again, VGA is still perfectly accetable resolution and is fine for the odd clip.

I use Nikon SLR's but have no time for the tedious Nikon vs Canon cheerleading. So when I was in the market for a decent compact, I read the reviews and found that pretty in much every test the Canon G10 / G11 was rated as a better camera than the P6000. In the end though, I couldn't afford the G11 so went for the Panasonic LX-3.
