This has been cleared with the site admin :)

Situation is that normally I do the photography for what's known as the Highland Fling Endurance ride just outside Inverness. Unfortunately this year (30th June/1st July) the wife's going to be doing a 75 mile one day ride and I'm pressganged into helping out. That means that I won't be able to realistically do any photography on the Saturday when there are also a lot of other competitors.

So, I've been asked to find someone else who can cover Saturday but I don't think it's fair or realistic to do that, hence I'm looking ideally for someone who can manage the whole weekend.

The work involved is pretty straighforward, images of the riders at points on the course and, if possible, coming in at the finish. This isn't always practical due to the different rides out and finishing times. You're looking at two full days, probably taking up to about 1000 images.

There are a three different options I can see, although I'm open to others if suggested.

1. You take responsibility for the photography, some promotional materials, providing access to proofs, selling and printing images. All earnings are yours.

2. You take images and use my website to do the marketing. I'm already sponsoring a class and the site will be in the programme. I'll do some of the promotional stuff. A share of earnings would need to be sorted out as I'd be taking the orders and arranging the printing.

3. I'll employ you for one or both days. I'll do all the marketing and promotional stuff. You take the images, retain copyright but I have licence to sell them through the site and any income from sales I keep. Fee to be agreed.

In all cases I can provide equipment if needed but this isn't rocket science. Here's a gallery from last year showing what's involved

Anyone interested PM me and I'll give projections based on last year. :) I'd rather someone on here got a shot at it before I go to some random tog.

Hi Dod,

A friend of mine from up your way might be just the ticket if you can't get someone from here to take it on for you.

His main thing is motorsports, BTCC and the like but I know he has done horsey stuff too. If you get stuck and could use a recommended snapper then let me know and I'll get the two of you in touch. Of course the usual diary clashes could still be a problem.

Hell, if you get really stuck I could always use it as an excuse to get up that way and pay him a visit. :)

It's a shame I'm so far away otherwise I'd have done it. Good luck with the search.

I was excited to take you up on it till I realised that is my last weekend in the country and my husband would probably like it if I spent it with him since he isn't joining me in the states for 2 years. Good luck finding someone.
