On sunday there was a youths international American Football game at Meadowbank in Edinburgh and I was invited to shoot for the league. Youths is upto 20 years olds but I can tell you I don't remember 20 year old being that size!

A good 3 hour game where no prisoners were taken, these boys hit hard. I hate to say it but we (Scots) lost this one. (No jokes please!)

Used a D2x with a 120-300 f2.8 , light to poor for the 1.4x and a D200 with 70-200 f2.8, ISO around 400-800

This believe it or not is a touch down, ball just crossing the line.

Later on in the game, a bit more grain in this one but I like it as it shows a good QB sack but still managing to lay the ball off

Now that's football! Argh, argh, argh. Just gotta love a sport where men wear tights, lol :p I think their all very good shots, really like the last one though. Like the clarity in all of them, very nice!

They have to, if they back out of a hit they will be hurt, and quite often it is serious injury.

Great set of shots.
