and i will lol
I've found it good to choose the right moment to slipe. I sliped last month while the missus was away in SA seeing her folks and got myself an upgrade to a 50D! when she returned I had a marvelously intricate tale concocted to explain the slipe away ;)
I'm desperately trying to but she's not falling for it :(
All hints and tips for sweet talking gratefully received

You might get away with the D90 as they look similarish to the D40, you ain't going to be able to hide the lens though! I managed to sell my D40 and replace it with a D80 and her indoors hasn't noticed:thumbs:

yeh but i got the silver d40 and silver lenses so the new black d90 will stand just a tad even more when i stick a silver lens on it lol
Ah right! You are the first person I've 'known' that boguht a silver D40! The kit lenses always sell much cheaper, good for picking up a cheap spare if you don't mind a silver lens.

Spare a thought for me, I've just received my Sigma 150-500 and don't know how I'm gonna justify it to my other half, I think she may spot the difference compared to the kit lens, even though they are both the same colour!...............will search this forum for suggestions ;)
Tell her that the lower the number, the higher the price - show her a D3 price and say "see, lower number".
then, when she sees the D90, she'll think it's cheaper, cos it has a higher number ;)
Well it is going to be an expensive Christmas for you, cos she will expect you to spend AT LEAST as much on her for Crimbo;)

erm seperate bank accounts
How about telling her the silver one broke, and they didn't have a silver one so replaced with black one? You'll ave to either quickly sell your D40 or hide it VERY well though :D

I was thinking of selling my d40 anyway so that's prob the best way of doing it
