Has anyone cleaned a D3 sensor and if so what is the best way to do this ..thanks in advance

I've cleaned my D700 (same sensor) with a Visible Dust sensor swab kit.
It worked, not sure what else to say.

I think I got them off Amazon for 30 odd quid.
Flash In The Pan is now selling something very similar for less money.

I never do more than a blow with a rocket blower - if the sensor gets dirtier than that will clear I go to a pro for cleaning. Arounf £30 for a D3 - worth it. I probably get this done once a year.

Ok thanks both I have a rocket blower and it will not shift the dust and pro cleaning makes sense for a D3 ... But thanks cyclone for the link ..But I have to say me and DIY don't do very well ...Lol
