I know there are too many Red Deer in scotland but I still like the look of this one

Looks a bit lost in all that green. Think I'd crop a bit closer.

Must be nice having such subjects nearby. I saw a deer once while walking in the local bit of Epping forest - it jumped across the path 6 foot in front of me and scared the **** out of me :)

I did think of cropping like you have done but being a bit of a wood nut I wanted to keep in a bit of the foliage of the European Larch behind the beastie
Hows planer?

Do you call them calfs up there? We call them fawns down here!!

We have plenty of fallow deer here, I can see them from my window most days, and they trot past the garden fence at night, judging from the footprints!!

A lovely shot, Sawman, just like Bambi!

Hows planer?

I can create sawdust at an amazing rate now :)

Keep thinking I should take some work in progress pictures etc. New lens now so no excuses i suppose :)

Janice You are correct about the fallow deer. This is a red deer young un & they are calfs. Gets all very confusing. Red deer stag & hind (male, female)
Roe deer are buck & doe. If I remember fallow are also buck & doe.

Robert Would like a wee lookie at the workshop. Bet its spick & span not like my mill. Though it is better now & I got a lorry load of fencing out this week so I have room. Well till the end of next week when there will be another load to go!
