Spent the last 20 or so minutes shooting at 3200 or 6400 ISO yesterday just to see how the D3 performed, i already knew it produced clean images at 3200 and was satisfied at ISO 6400 as well

Are these straight out of camera? Thy look very good to me, but #5 looks a funny colour (on my dodgy monitor).

Hi Ian, straight from camera, a little cropping and USM, No5 is under floodlights and has a yellow cast to it but ive not done any PP to adjust hence the slight cast.

Any chance of a 100% crop of one of the 6400 ones Gary. The most noticeable thing i find with using high ISO is the drop in sharpness. The Noise itself is bareable. So it would be interesting (possibly depressing haha) to see what a d3 and prime produce sharpness wise.
Nice shots as always.

Heres a link to the original straight from the cam and just compressed to save on file size, any blur/softness is due to motion blur as the shutter is only 1/400th sec

can't wait :D
I noticed you've been buying up all the Nikon gear on the site, you only need a 300/400mm prime now Dod.
Very nice indeed. Better than I'll get at 6400 with my 1DIII. The 3200 shots are about the same, though I imagine the D3 will edge it a bit if you need to crop.
