going on holiday - want to carry extra SD card[s]

just new with the D40 - the rubbish handbook says "SD and SDHC compatible"
but no sizes

excellent Ken Rockwell review says "SD up to 4GB"

can anyone advise the MAX card I can use ??

will 4GB SDHC work ?...................

Thanks

I've had an 8 gig card in there no problem. 4GB is certainly fine.

thanks - I'll get a 4GB SDHC then --- Sandisk make is OK ?

the card supplied by the D40 Camera Shop is a little card INSIDE an "adapter"
and I dont know/trust how reliable that system will be.?

that is basically a micro SDHC card - commonly used in mobile phones. It is put in an adapter so it can fit in the larger card slot of SD card slots.

sorry to be picky but i dont want to lose holiday photos - - is this plug-in system reliable ?? --- or should i carry 2 x 4MB straight SDHC cards ?

thanks again

I'd stay well clear of the adapter idea. Just one more thing to go wrong. Cards are cheap, get proper ones.

I wouldnt use Micro SD simply for the fact that theyre so tiny, if you have to change card, youll almost certainly lose the first one!
