If you have gone wrong it wasn't far wrong. Maybe you could say why you think you've gone wrong. It's almost a brilliant shot. A little sharper and slightly more exposure and it'd have been great.

If you could have just got the bottom curve of the flamingo's neck in that would have been nice. Sorry, it is nice i mean it would hae been better.

Not a bad lot overall. Very close to a brilliant set. Big pat on the back i reckon! :D

 It just looks too dark and out of focus to me, it looked really good on the lcd and was so disappointing when i put it on the PC !

Thanks for the comments tho ! :)

Ian which zoo did you visit?

I checked out all your threads and I can't see you have much to reproach yourself for at all. The first eagle shot in this thread is excellent. I was going to sharpen it up for you and pep it up a bit but I see it's only 20K - that's not much bigger than avatar size! When you save a file as a jpeg you need to look at your options which give you less compression and a better file quality. If you look at your eagle pic you can see faint swirly marks around the outline which are known as 'Jpeg artifacts'. These are caused by data loss due to compression, and they aren't helped by compressing too vigorously.

Sharpening the image now would also exaggerate those artifacts so there's not much point The other thing is I find sharpening is just about the last thing you should do before you save the image. Regardless of whether you've already sharpened though, when you reduce an image in size it usually benefits from a sharpen as it tends to lose a bit of resolution.

If you still have the full sized version, try reducing it to the same size but with less compression, then do a careful sharpen and lets see it posted again!

Thanks for the comments ! :) Was Whipsnade, im surprised the pics came out as good as they did actually, the light was dreadful !

I have the full size raw version still ! lol

Is 8mb !

Will have a look in a bit, my isp is having issues now and my pics are vanishing !

I like that shot, and think you were a little hard on yourself (it's not far off). Just the tweaks you've done here are a massive improvement.
