Has anybody here used the Hahnel version of the BG-E2 grip (for Canon 30D)?
Also, is there a tripod mount on the base of these grips and how stable are they on a tripod?
Thanks,
Brian

I personally haven't but IMO if I were in the market to buy a grip again for my 30D (Just bought one a couple of months ago), I would save up that little bit more and get the official Canon BGE2.

I think the cheapest I saw the Hahnel was about £70, and the cheapest I found the BGE2 for was £104ish. So the saving isn't *that* much and you have the added piece of mind you're buying a proper Canon product, designed to work with your camera, and one that has sold the world over lord knows how many times :)

I've just ordered a generic chinese grip for £48 delivered, I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives.

Oh and yes there's a tripod mount underneath.

I have the BG-E2 grip and it works fine.

Cannot compare it to any others though.

There is a tripod mount on it
