I don't know if I'm being a little thick? but when using lightroom it only shows the files as a CR2 file & not a thumbnail!

Is is possible to change it to show thumbnails??

Thanks in advance

Spence

Mine shows all the files as thumbnails straight from the card.

Thanks for the reply Janice.:)

But what I meant to say was: That when I try to import an image, when I open the folder, it only shows the CR2 icon & not a thumbnail!!

Once imported to lightroom it shows them as thumbnails.

Or does it do that for everyone??

Thanks in advance

Spence

Yes it does THAT for me too!! :D

I cant tell what they are on the card until I have them in lightroom.

I can on my iMac. Are you using Windows XP? If so, try installing Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=D48E808E-B10D-4CE4-A141-5866FD4A3286&displaylang=en)

Do you need to start dropping files before getting them into Lightroom though?

Once you've imported them, scroll through your library in film strip mode, hitting x for files that don't make the cut and p for those you want to pick. Then you can delete all the rejected ones.

I often have more than one job on a card and in these cases it's handy to see which files go where when importing. :)

The microsoft raw thumbnailer doesnt work for my 400D sadly. I either have to use Canon's DPP, or Lightroom.
