This may seem like a silly question but is it a fixed 105mm or it zooms to 105mm if so what dose it start at?
And dose anyone have one and is it any good for a macro lens:thinking:

Thanks Dan:wave:

It's a prime lens (fixed at 105mm). It is also a very well liked lens, never seen an unfavourable review. I love mine and not just for it's macro capabilities.

Hi Dan,

I had one too for a while and i loved it. Swapped it for a 85mm prime to concentrate on portraits but sometimes wish i hadn't. When you have a macro lens you can find things to photograph anywhere. Small spiders in the back garden etc. My wife thought i was mad hanging about in the garden and from her view taking pictures of the fence and hedges. This lens also makes a great portrait lens although it does get tight indoors unless you have plenty of space.

Depending on what Macro you were looking at doing, you could always get the Sigma 50mm Macro lens, wider (and cheaper) than the 105mm Macro

We've one and my daughter absolutely loves it - gets some very nice shots with it :)
