Went down to the Butterfly Conservatory yesterday with my daughter and her Brownie troop. It wasn't what I thought it would be but got some alright shots nevertheless. Take a lookie here, all just taken with my coolpix, not the D70.

and here is where I nearly **** my pants,lol , but had to keep my cool because all the girls are watching of course,lol. This is "MY" pantleg and it wasn't funny at all. Butterflies are pretty when their not crawling on ME! :D

WOW! that's a big butterfly! there is a place near me and i only have a small camers, (canon powershot) it's surprising how good little cameras can be. did you get any shots on macro?

No macro piccies nope, there wasn't much time for anything but quick snaps being with the kids and all. The group was moving along quickly. I may go back as they do let "photo enthusiasts" like moi to book time before they open every day just for that. Tripods and whatever else ya wanna bring is allowed during those times only. I shall see anyways.

Oh, I so agree! Couldn't bear to have them fluttering around me, even though they are pretty. very brave of you, Jewel.
