Hi guys,

Well I went out today and parted with around 420-ish queen sheets for a Nikon 70-300mm af-s VR lense.

Got to say I'm quite excited at the prospect of unwrapping it on christmas day!!

Have I done the right thing??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. too late i know, but comments from you guys are very welcome.

Thanks guys,

Yep mtracerz, I have wrapped it up and it's under the tree, I can live with waiting a few days!!!!! gives me something in my sad life to look forward too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fact that I'm P***ing myself with excitement is neither here nor there!!!

Got to say I did feel very guilty walking out of the shop with it though!!!!

haha,
I bought myself a 40d and also just managed to purchase 18-55mm kit, and a tamron 28-300. Actually chomping at the bit for it all to arrive.

Camera should be here tomorrow, lenses on wed. No chance its going under my tree :p

Yes you have done the right thing (as long as you can afford it ). It is a fantastic lens that punches well above it's price tag.

Here is one I took at the weekend on the D40 with the same lens....
