View Full Version : Treated myself
I was in Digital depot at the weekend looking for a new bag which I got, I also picked up a Nikon 50mm f/1.4. I haven't had a chance to use it in anger yet but here are a couple of test shots taken in the shop, the DOF is so, so narrow!

1/60th @ f/1.4, I think I focused on the wrong eye! :D

It's a lovely lens.
I borrowed a friends last year for a few months last year, and got so much use out of it. Keep on meaning to dump my macro lens in favour of one!
Nice.... if you want a DOF of ~1cm.
Bet you are going to have lotsa fun :D
Nice! DOF and bokeh to die for.

It is a really fabulous lens Colin ... got myself one 'for Christmas' and well pleased with it !
Both my POTY pics have been taken with it this year ... :D
Seriously love it and don't like taking it off much at the moment ... ;)
Enjoy it ... :D
What bag did you go for in the end ...

Lovely shallow DoF, but is that some fringing on the 18?

A nice fast lens !

Looks like it but if it's wide open I wouldn't worry about it. The canon 85mm F1.8 is the same, every one raves about it but it's not till about F3.2 you get rid of the fringing.
