View Full Version : Things that really tick you off!!
I have been REALLY annoyed about this for years but never told anyone about it, it probably seems really stupid but I fume when I'm watching the news and Blair or Cameron are spouting utter tripe on the floor in the commons and behind them you have the head nodders, they nod in agreement to every point made, even when they have been asleep for the previous 10 minutes and dont have a clue about what is being said:bang:
is it just me....what really ticks you off?
It's just you who watch BBC Parliament 24x7. :)
Many things tick me off.
1) Drivers who sit on the fast lane even though the inner lane is empty
2) People blowing their nose in public into their handkerchief and then putting it in their pocket. Take it out in a few minutes and do it again. *yuck*!
3) People who litter on the streets.
4) People who answer phone calls during a meeting.
5) People talking when the film is on in the cinema.
6) ... lots more...

I used to find myself getting stressed commuting (crowds, late trains, people drifting left and right across pavements, getting in the way). I've learnt to chill out a bit now. "Goosfraba..."

Ha, ha, ha, life is really just too short too complain imo. Not too many things bother me to be honest. The only thing I can say that REALLY bothers me is people who don't live in the moment, and 'really' enjoy life. :D
Cheesy yeah, but true! :)

I'll possibly alienate myself here a little but needs must
1) People who drive 4x4's and have obviously never seen mud in their entire lives. They drive them because it makes them feel safer, shame about the pedestrians they'd KILL if they hit someone. This isn't forgetting of course how non Venomator friendly they are. (I'd highlight Venomator in green but I can't work out which one green is - damn colour blindness!)
2) People who talk on their mobiles whilst driving without a handsfree kit. Duh! Idiots the lot of them. Let the bloody thing ring, pull over and call them back. It's only a phone call.
Aaaahh that feels better. Back to work now *sigh*

1) LOAD of C*ap!!!
Another idiot with no real facts and or proof. Many 4x4's do better mpg than large family cars (mine does 30mpg +) and hitting anyone with ANY car can cause death. As for green. Which is easier and cheaper to recycle? a car full of batteries or a old landrover. Green is much more than how many MPG or what emmissions a vehicle has.
My pet hate: People jumping on the bandwagons created by the press to steer sheep in the same direction.
Now go get your own life and get off the band wagon!

30mpg+ woohoo!
So 50 mpg is nothing to aspire too with a normal engine then? And as for 4x4's with immaculate paintwork and a nice set of pedestrian friendly bullbars going round Sainsbury's, is that justfied?
I agree 4x4 is a large label and there are some excellent models out there but anyone wanting to drive a 3+ litre behemoth to pick up Tarquin from ballet practice is just plain :cuckoo: IMO

I don't see where anyone called you a killer?
We don't delete memberships - you either choose to post or you don't.
We don't like losing anyone here, but we do expect a certain level of civility. If on reflection you're still happy with your post, then we do have a problem. If you think you perhaps could have made your point a little less offensively, then I suggest you settle your differences with the original poster, forget it and move foreward. ;)

OK please provide information of any vehicle that is capable of 50mpg and has the ability to two a 2 tonne trailer. Each vehicle fits a need.
I presume you also think any car that is capable of over 70mph is also not green? afterall, why the extra power if it does not need it?

Please don't take this personally. I don't want to see anyone remove themself from a forum that is supposed to bring people together about a common interest, over a silly off the subject thread.
By the title this was on things that tick individuals off. By the nature of your replies it seems that my views on certain modes of transport have struck a raw nerve. I meant no offence to any indivdual by anything I posted, it was meerly a personal opinion under the thread heading. Having no need for a 4x4 (I have a 7 month pregnant wife - so may need one to cart her to hospital!) and a family that has been active in nature conservation for 40+ years, I have formulated my opinions on my experiences in life. Yes 4x4's do serve a purpose and will very efficiently cart exceptional loads to exceptional places. My gripe is purely with the members of the Great British public who do not use them as such.
Please let's just forget about this and all just TALK PHOTOGRAPHY.
I dunno, these hot headed welsh people are all the same ;)

Sorry The_old_man but regardless of the post that caused your response, your post was directly offensive towards another member, and that's against the rules.
Ceege merely generalised about something that ticks him off. Where that generalisation comes from is fine to debate, but to insult someone for their thoughts isn't really cricket.
As they say, feel free to criticise, but criticise the thought, not the thinker.

What ticks me off?
Well, this week it's stupid company directors who go off on a half cocked whim and causing financial grief to me.
I was told my paydate was being changed, so off i toddled and moved all my direct debits at my expense because my mortgage required a holiday period because the new paydate would have meant the payment was in the following month by a couple of days.
So, they all got moved and today they announced that the're not going to bother moving the date after all :bang:  :annoyed:

Old people in Nissan Micras, well generally anybody in a Nissan Micra but old people especially tick me off!
Is it the people or the cars. I can't stand the cars. Why did they decide to base the design of the latest model on a London black cab?
I saw a convertible one on the M25 today, a shocking shade of pink :gag: :gag:
Things that tick me off:
1. I can't stand getting stuck behind motorists who breaks every time they see a car travelling in the opposite direction.
2. Motorists who pull out in front of you just to drive slowly and then turn off again at the next road.
3. Mobile phones. Why do people have to be on them all the time. I don't have one and don't want one.
4. As a non smoker, smoking being banned in most shopping malls but smoking is allowed in the coffee shops and cafes usually located at the bottom of the escalators. Never mind the smell of smoke which is bad enough, what about hygene.
5. BMW and Mercedes drivers (not all of them) who were to tight to pay for indicators' which must have been an optional extra or if fitted don't know where they are/ how to use them.
6. The theiving tax man, he should get a job of his own and stop nicking my hard earned money he should also stop looking for ways to nick even more of it too.
Theres is probably lots more but I'll let some one else have a go.
Things that make me feel good, spending time with my sons, achieving a fairly decent photo. Winning an auction on ebay without the bidding going up to my limit so I feel I got the item cheap. :D :D

aww that's great, how about a thread hearing what really "makes one smile" at the end of the day. :)

The one that gets me going - and I see loads of 'em- is the guy driving in front of me, who sees the car in front of him signalling to turn left, and carries on at exactly the same speed, assuming the car in front will have turned left and cleared the carriageway by the time he gets there, when it's perfectly obvious this just wont be the case.
So instead of just easing off the gas a little, he finds his route obstructed at the last second, and makes a wild erratic swing to the right to overtake - often into the face of oncoming traffic!! :gag:
Anticipation = diddly squat!

Yep - defensive driving should be part of the test and reinforced every 5 years.
All 4x4 drivers who get irate when it's pointed out to them that they're idiots for driving stupidly oversize cars in an environment (crowded cities) that they are plainly not designed for.
Drive a 4x4 in a field, forest, desert, jungle, wilderness etc - fine.
Habitually drive a 4x4 in Town - you're a Tw&t.
