I've been reminiscing a bit.. back in the days when people like jessops and jacobs would give you, basically, peanuts to trade lenses.. it did have it's bonuses and ebay wasn't even around then.. Now I find myself scouring the net for the cheapest trusted source for lenses etc but that also means any lenses I want to sell I have to do a lot more pro actively.. tho that can result in a decent bit of cash for them, going rate at least...

so...

Anybody know if any regular stores still do the trade ins...

And.. does anybody miss the simple way, selling privately through mags and papers compared to the ebay way?!

All this because I want a new lens ey!!

I think the London Camera Exchange still take old photography gear in part ex, not sure if they have a branch near you though.

The do I believe, I also know that a small local chain near me also do, so might be worth looking for something like that.

T4 Cameras still work the old fashioned in the shops. All in the Wilts/Berks region though.

LCE seem decent and with a bit of phoning before hand it might be worth me going to nottingham or somewhere like that if I can tie it in with some work or get a really good deal. IŽve emailed them so IŽll see what they make of my questions about trading!
