Thinking that maybe a roller case may be the way forward for when I go to airshows, does anybody know of a roller case that will fit all the gear that one would take to an airshow, yet be sturdy enough to double up as a seat?

Depends what gear you've got ;)
peli 1510 is pretty commonly used, or the 1610 / 1620.

I brought the Lowepro Pro Roller One last year. Don't think though it's meant to be sat on.
I'd have thought a Storm im2720 would also be able to take the same amount of gear.

Depends what gear you've got ;)
My current gear is a gripped 40D with 100-400mm, a 17-85mm IS, a 10-20mm and a 50mm F1.8
When I'm out taking pics of aircraft, there is also a handheld scanner (Icom IcR5) plus extra batteries, memory cards, blower, brush etc.
This is all usually carried round in a Lowepro Fastpack 350, if I take the laptop and all the leads as well, then I use a Tamrac Expedition 7x

That'll easily fit inside a peli 1510 :) They're bombproof (literally) and about £120 from jitpak or a diving seller on ebay.

I've just bought something like this for this years airshows:

The way I see it, is that I can have my backpack with gear on and load the bivvy, chairs and windbreaks in the trolley.
Then when set up I can walk around with my gear and collapse the trolley and store it in the bivvy.
Only time will tell. But mine was less than £20, so no big loss if it doesn't.
Kev.

Kevshore, thats quite a cheap, interesting spin on things, I may have to investigate further.
