HI,
As my laptop doesnt have a cf slot i was wondering which reader is the best to buy . I could just get a cheapo £3 off ebay but id rather have a recommendation for a good fast transfer usb2 reader.
Anyone any advice / links to good buys please

Has your laptop got a firewire port? if so i would say get the sandisk extreme firewire reader, its not cheap, but its unbelievably fast.

yes i have a firewire port . Im looking at the Lexar Professional UDMA Dual-Slot USB Reader as i could use it on any laptop and im concerned if i need to use another laptop it may not have firewire. Does anyone use one of the Lexar ones that can comment ?
I've one of the Sandisk readers (have Sandisk Cards) and am very pleased with it. Personally, I wouldn't buy cheapo one - the Sandisk was under £20.

Can highly recommend the Lexar Professional UDMA CF/SD USB2 reader - mega quick (with the right cards) and around £20-25 delivered (eBay/Warehouse Express etc.)

I wouldn't worry too much.. I'm using a no-name multi-format card reader I got from PC World. I can download a couple of gb in a minute or two, which is plenty fast enough for me. If you want a faster transfer rate, you need to be looking at FireWire.

recently bought an ASDA special, multi card reader (works with sdhc too) cost a whole £5,

do you have an expresscard port, the adaptors are firewire speed but closer to usb in cost and internal which rocks.
clicky (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_0_15?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=expresscard+compact+flash+reader&x=0&y=0&sprefix=expresscard+com) I use the bottom one, whether you get the bottom one or one above depends on the port on the lappy

I got a cheap USB2 one. Cost about £4 when I ordered some other stuff off Amazon, works fine, and does all it needs to. I can wait a cpl mins over an expensive one, as usually get the kettle on when it downloads.
+1 for the Lexar Professional UDMA CF/SD USB2 reader
Very fast and accepts 2 cards (CF and SD) at once
