View Full Version : Published :)
Hello All,
Have held this back for a few days and let this sink in properly, I have been published in Digital SLR magazine.
In fact, I came second runner up in their siloutte monthly competition - I win a printer :woot:
See photo's below, I think it's a shot you have all seen before of Southern-down just down the road from me, It was an early Sunday morning and myself and Hoodi made an early drive - well worth it now :)

To top it all of I had a call from the Head of PR from a large global company !!, who want me for an afternoons shoot in April. I rang them on Friday and they need a quote from me (but that's going to be another thread :)) Yikes !!!
This year has so far gone very well on the photography front. I am chuffed, but need more lenses, as I am only managing on a 17-85mm and the nifty fifty :) So I need to invest ...
Again, thanks for all the comments and help along the way, this site has certainly helped improve my photography....
Cheers,
Neil

I am so pleased for you, Neil. And well deserved too....it's a superb shot.
It never even enters my mind to go into competitions...perhaps I should start.
Congratulations mate  Please for ya :)
Yet another member on here published..... AND commissioned too..Not bad work at all!
Was the commission a result of the magazine exposure, or something completely seperate?

Well done you! :woot: I saw it in the mag, but not knowing your real name, I didn't realise it was you.....really pleased for you! As for the commision....excellent news!
Neil, my housemate has a Pixma Ip4000 downstairs - it's lovely. Prints on all sorts of stuff, does it very fast and is cracking quality. He uses it to print hiking snaps & stuff too, and it does a gosh darn good job of those aswell!
Plus, I'm led to beleive it's pretty economical :)
Cheers everyone
I am going the right way I think...
Hopefully I can be as helpful to those who have helped me out over the last 6months.
Marcel - When I rang the guy back he had searched on the web for a tog in my area. But didnt elaborate on why he chose me. Email off to them tonight, so need to think about invoicing - Any ideas ?

Not sure if my mate did a bit of code editing, I can point you his way if you like?
Janice - You should do, its a nice way of getting a bit of extra publicity, if you get published, but I just like seeing if I have the ability to get published. Kind of a nice litmus test of your own shots. When you do boy does it bring a smile to your face..
Hoodi - Cheers mate. Will try and find a good review, if it's more economical on inks, even better ! When are we out next? Anyone else fancy joining us for a shoot in South Wales?
Seriously well done - really pleased for you!
