As so many of us have good sized monitors and work at minimum sizes of around 800x we have decided to increase the max image size allowed in the gallery to 800 pixels on the longest edge, please note that we will break image tags that display larger images, 800 is a good size and we hope that it will be more than enough for you all! Image file size is also increased but only a small amount to 160kb..some forums restrict sizes to less than half that, we would ask that you think of the 56k dial up users and the bandwidth!!
If you are uploading to the gallery then get your images to 800pixels and 'save for web' this will minimise the jpeg compression that the gallery imposes, meaning your images will be cleaner to look at!
We the admin team are very proud to have some fantastic shots in the gallerys, and displayed on the forums, we want you to continue to show them, so please, get posting! 8)
