spent a bit of time in Papua New Guinea last year and borrowed a nikkonos V for a dive. it was pretty weird to use, set up as fixed at 1/60 and f22 with a 50mm lens and 1:3 macro ring and a dedicated ttl flash to the top right or left which decided the exposure for me. i shot velvia 100f on it and the slides look incredible, all nice and sharp and none blown out under a magnifier on a light-box but the scans are crap in comparison. still they show a little of what it may be like, just imagine the colours as only velvia can produce.

crenoid (sp?) these have legs and can walk!

Absolutely wonderful set of shots!!

It shows what can be achieved with a FF film camera, and the reason that they are still highly valued!

Congratulations.

All terrific Noah! I espicially like the feather star (Crinoidea) though.
I have done a bit of diving in the past and although superb, don't you find the real thing far better than any pictures? ( thats not a criticism BTW)

The colours on the second set that you have re-posted are amazing!

Awesome stuff Noah - the second set are miles better, make the first lot look horribly posterised.
Have you spoken to express imaging? I was chatting to my mate about this, he didn't really know what to say ~ but they're nice enough guys & if you explain your dissapointment I'm sure they'll at least partially reimburse you...

quite a difference eh!

i haven't been down yet but i'll go see them on monday. i've always found them to be good in the past, just not so sure of their scanner.
