Found what I think would make a great photo just around the corner from me. You know the street sign for territory marking ? Well this is a tree full of them, a Geordie Shoe Tree ;)

Obviously as the kids are leaving the local sports center they have developed this cute little game of throwing theirs (or others) foot wear aloft. Ohh how happy the parents must be :suspect:

Anyhow I trotted off this morning in the earlier light to see if I could get a reasonable shot of this scene. My attempts so far are not too encouraging, so I thought I'd post up a couple and see if anyone has a suggestion of how to improve the result.

I remember seeing something like this on tv years ago, don't think it was local though.
Next time you go would you check to see if there are any size 11's please.

That's pretty funny! In terms of the shots - the sky is a little blown out, which is a bit distracting, especially in the second shot.

The first is a bit busy due to all the branches - can't really be helped. Perhaps try moving around to the right a bit to take the shot, so that the white shoes stand out against the dark tree, rather than hiding against the bright sky

Great subject just calling out for the right sky. My recommendation would be wait for a nice fluffy cloud day and do it again with a ND graduated filter. Just my 2p.

Apparently in the city if there are a pair of shoes on the line across the street it refers to a drug dealer living/ operating on that road. Couldnīt tell you if itīs true though.

On one of the estates across town from me, they have firework rockets that go off to let the local druggies know that a 'new shipment' has arrived. I often wondered why fireworks would go off in the middle of summer at 10pm....... Then there's the dealer in town who tells you of his arrival by sounding his car horn continuously as he drives down the street

We have one dude that drives past playing tinny nursery songs.

Oh wait, that's the ice cream man.
