Gardening!!!

Well it's very much a duty for me, I don't get any deep sense of fulfilment from it, but I do like to see it tidy. I've just had my first (late) couple of hours at it and I'm knackered, but it was a good excuse to get the camera out.

This was taken with the 17-85mm EF-S which is proving to be a very useful general purpose lens.

Although I don't like the framing, the colours are outstandingly vibrant and saturated. Almost looks like it has been painted in primary colours.

Well it was very much a snapshot Steve and the shot is uncropped. I was just struck by the incredible colours of these tulips. The flower heads were waving about in quite a strong wind, so in the end I just popped up the flash hoping it would freeze the movement - which it did. :D

The the contrast between the blue, red and yellow its amazing.

i always find red is a hard colour to get right with a camera, it always looks over saturated to me when i take shots of roses, for example. Nice capture on athe colours here though, very vibrant
