Hi there,

I'm Helen and new to these forums. I've been taking photos for the last couple of years, but have taken it up a gear recently. My hubby has created www.helenpatmore.com for me to showcase and sell my images - please take a look and tell me what you think.

Anyway the point of this post was to ask for any comments you may have on a particular photo of mine:

Let me know what you think!

Welcome to the forums Helen.

About the image....Id get rid of the tiny bit of branch along the top and Im afraid the sky is a bit too blown out for my liking... making the lower detail a bit dark.

But a good image for your first post...looking forward to more

Thanks for the comments Janet, it's helpful to get an unbiased view on things!

I've got plenty of other pics to post - that's just one of my favourites. Other favourite is:

Dunno what you think of that one?

Hi again Helen.

Just a small tip .... You can go up to 800 pixels on the longest edge when showing your photos on here.

Yours are 300 at the moment which makes it a bit small for some of us to see clearly.

Good start though

Hi Helen :)

First one is a bit too dark for me - gives a good atmosphere, but just looses a bit too much detail in the shadows for my liking. Second shot I really like (had a look through your site too) and I think it is my fav of all your shots I have seen, really good timing with the figure walking and waving coming over the top - would maybe have loved it if it was a bit closer, but that would change the whole image...good work :D keep it up!

Yeah, sorry both of those images are a bit small. Computer problems means I've not got access to the originals at the moment.

Hiya Helen
Welcome to TPF... Im sure youll love it here as much as the rest of us!

Sorry to say the first image leaves me a bit cold but your second image is fantastic!
Personally, and you have to remember this is just me, and I know diddly squat, but Id like to see the bottom cropped to the start of the bottom of the wall.
Its a very dramatic image and like the others, Id really like to see it bigger too.
Look forward to seeing more from you!

:hi Helen and :welcome: to TPF.

:agree: with all that has been said about your 2 photos, I really like No2, I'd love to see a bigger version - that would look lovely in a black frame on the wall
