Got it from Cameras2u.com

http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?Product=JAA795DA&CFID=14402314&CFTOKEN=be74be-ca6c3451-7b5c-486b-b94b-834bcd66c0d1

used discount code: cm2u-pr06

cost something like £332 and got it next day for extra £3.95 on the postage.

two sample pics straight from camera nothing other than resize and save for web. Both taken at 300mm f5.6 1/6th sec! Handheld, obviously underexposed but it was best way to show VR at work.

I think you can guess when the VR was on and when it was off - and i was really trying to hold it still.

VR OFF - No ****** Batman!

Got to admit i got the bug after trying my mates VR lens on his 350D, but would have bought the lens for the HSM and the sharpness alone, the VR is a nice bonus.

Decisions, Decisions, lol. I am now looking for a low range zoom but have to save hard first, maybe a 17-50 tamron or an 18-200 VR if i can save enough.

ppp - I can understand why you would be after a 17-50 but unless you want a "one lens" solution why they 18-200? It's a great lens but a 17-50 will give you better results at the wide end and your 70-300 will give you better results at the long end - I tried the 18-200 myself & found myself going back to a three lens setup of ydangle / mid-range / zoom ... yeah must admit i was pretty much set on the Tamron 17-50 as the 18-200 is more money and less available. Did think about a Nikon 18-70 but still think the Tamron would be a better bet.
