Couple of owl shots from Twycross zoo, taken with a Canon 20D and Sigma 150mm macro lens.

Wow.....number 1 is just cracking.....those brown feathers between the eyes are pin sharp! Shame about the shadow of the fence in number 2 (I'm assuming that's what the greyness is) but again, the clarity of the feathers is great.

Yes, it must be a shadow from the fence, as opposed to the fence itself, as i'm pretty sure I managed to shoot through one of the holes in the chain-link fence.
