i tried to clean my old 20d with a makeshift cleaning system i invented on the spot ( i had a hangover at the time .....)

Any way, I used a cotton bud kinda bent into shape.. that didnt work. So i seen this thing on the net that looked like a glue applier from primary school with a bit of cloth on the end so i decided to make one my self. Went well untill i stuck it in my camer and tried to do the dead with it. Scratched the sensor cover and although it was barly visible on the photos i knew it was there (and still is there) - I ended up buying the real cleaning things from some site and they worked a treat but it took a few tries to get the sensor cover clean. I also scratched the penta prism while doing it so that day was pretty crappola for my camera. Luckily now the 20d is my spare camera and i have not went near the 40d i have with anything except for love and affection - the pentaprism is simple to remove and clean and the sensor cleans its self. The 20d always had a few marks on the sensor though that i could not realy get rid of and it realy p'd me right off!!

glad its now just a spare camera,.
