AutoTrader Easter Thunderball 2007
Friday 6th - Monday 9th April

The most packed motorsport weekend this Easter. Great fun and value for the whole family.

The Autotrader Easter Thunderball opens the new 2007 Drag Racing season. The event will take place on 6th-9th April 2007 and with the Drag Racing comes a whole host of exciting attractions!

More details (http://www.santapod.co.uk/e_easter.php)

Ladybrd and I and some of our friends are going on Easter Monday. It would be good if other TP members wanted to come along too! :D We had a good meet at the Flame & Thunder meet late last year, and this is a similar event. :)

Tickets are £23 per day (£6 cheaper if booked in advance), with reductions if you want to go for more than one day.

So, who's up for it? :D

Just a note that advance tickets had to be purchased by 30th March.

May be worth a call to see if discount is available for groups on the day.

I really wish I could get away. :'(

A few tips with apologies if I'm preaching to the converted:

The promise of sunshine on a Bank Holiday Monday means it's going to be busy - MUCH busier than a cold November meet. Action is likely to kick off quite early so if you pitch up at lunchtime, you will miss a lot, have to queue to get in & probably be limited to photographing the finishing line.

If you're less than 6' 4", some means of gaining a height advantage is essential as EVERYONE stands up on the banking as soon as the "proper" stuff starts running. Small aluminium steps are ideal or a beer crate.

On the three days a decade when the sun does shine at SPR, it can become very hot. Slip, slap, slop may well be necessary as it's so exposed.

If you stay for the final rounds, don't rush back to the car. You won't be going anywhere in a hurry.

I can almost smell the nitro fumes - have a great day.
