Shot this today whilst on a walk, weather really horrible and no cloud detail to be seen for miles so decided to try something different. F22 1 second iso 100

i'd like to try something like that.
Great stuff - I do like the blurred water effect.
Presumably you used a tripod?
Nice pic anyway, and one I'd like to try (somehow I don't think my camera is quite up to it!)
nice shot, i think i would have tried to get that damn tree branch out the way though!

Yes you'd need a tripod to blur the water like that. Actually it's interesting with water to try all the effects from freezing it with a fast shutter speed down through gradually longer exposures, even several seconds, to see the different effects you can get.
This guy here's a bit good at it too: http://www.photoblink.com/net/mshop.aspx?&uid=3987&hall=1

You're not wrong !!!!! :)
I have seen several of this type of image, and next time i am near some moving water i am going to have to give it a go just to prove to myself i can ! lol
Just above each of the larger shots in the top right corner is a little pb (not sure if you need to register at photoblink (free) to see it) which, when clicked, enables comments to be left and see details of the exposure, aperture etc. He tends to use a ND filter a lot to reduce the light and force a longer exposure and thus blurring the water even more. His other shots are pretty tasty too (1Ds MkII ;o))

I need to get a ND filter i think ! lol and i seriously need to get a Circualr polarising filter as well after seeing the effect they have !
You've captured the motion blur on the water great, but the branch has severely handicaped the image.
Its ok to Garden the area your going to shoot. As long as you put it back as near to the way you found it.
(Gardening means clean up the area). Don't remove any plants that might be in the way though.
