One from last weeks shoot, I am trying to decide if this has been oversharpened, and the whites seem to be more blown now I have uploaded it from FLickr than when I worked on it. What do you think.

Tiny bit oversharpened if you view it very closely. Sit back a bit and it is fine - nice shot.

Hi trev well my kind of background love that and the bird looks pretty good to the only thing is I think the head part may be a little overdone and the whites look a little smooth
have you done anything extra to that part

Thanks Karen, I appreciate your comments. I haven't done anything specifically to the head area, apart from applying USM to the whole picture. However, when I saw the whites looking wrong when uploaded to Flickr, I did apply 4% burn to the whites, but it was only 1 pass which is quite a small amount.

A nice pose Trevor, to me the chest looks slightly smudged as well. Do you have the original for comparison as it would be interesting to see how much feather detail was there in the first place. Personally I have never bothered with usm, but we all do things differently anyway ;)
