An NPPA article details the circumstances surrounding the Toledo Blade's running of a news photo that had been digitally altered by the photographer to remove a pair of legs from the background.

FFS he's only taken out a pair of feet. It's not like he's added smoke and explosions to it is it.

Yup, I don't really see what the fuss is about really :shrug:

I can understand there are ethics involved when it's 'news' but I would say the explanation on his blog is acceptable. An edited version to keep and print, it was even the wrong resolution to send to the paper.

It's not like the other dude in the middle east when he added smoke to that bombed building. Whole different ballgame IMO.

UPDATE, APRIL 9, 2007: Allan Detrich has now resigned his position at the Toledo Blade.

So he's now resigned. Surely this thas blown out of all proportion? Or have I missed something?
