Ok, think I've decided to bite the bullet and go for the better glass instead of going after the less expensive (not as good) glass. My question is, should I hold out for the 24-70mm or go after the 28-70mm lens? I'm asking because I've found a good 28-70mm (used) lens locally at a great price. I don't really need the extra 4mm for the stuff I'll be shooting with it. Just wondered if there's anything else I should be concerned about. I can't seem to find reviews of the 28-70mm version but plenty on the 24-70mm version.

Just want to be sure I'm buying smartly...

Thanks.

There's a review here which focusses on the 24-70 v 28-70

Edit...and a simple 28-70L review here (http://photo.net/equipment/canon/28-70)

Thanks, hadn't seen the FM one before.

I saw the other one but she reviews it as a film photographer, not sure how much difference that makes but I don't shoot film. :)

I think I'm gonna scrape some pennies together to get this one. Seems like a good idea.

Thanks.
