Anybody going to the good wood festival of speed this year? (Friday 22nd - Sunday 24th June 2007)

Its always a good day(weekend) out as long as the weather holds out. And loads of automotive photo opportunities! Im trying to decide whether to get the weekend general admission ticket or single day ticket. :bang:

Will probably go for the saturday if i go for a single ticket.

If the opening times are the same as last year then they will be the following :

Gates open 7:00am on Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Action starts at:
10:00am on Friday
9:00am on Saturday and Sunday.

If you don't get there early enough the traffic can be horendious. Que's miles back..that move incredible slow. So coming from the north might be a early morning drive :) Don't forget that 200k+ people go to this.

I'll be there with my two sons. Just got to work out whether I might be working Saturday or Sunday that weekend, then I'll order my tickets. I've been 3 times before, only on Saturdays though. Really is a great day and I'd recommend it to anyone even non petrol heads. I'm going to take a bit of extra money this year so the boys can be taken for a quick trip in the LandRover Bobcats.

For the last few years i've had free tickets for Friday (they're easy to get hold of), but now i'm working, i might have to brave a weekend day

I'll be there all three days as usual. As for the traffic I've never had a problem but then again I have a few shortcuts up my sleeve ;)

Nice one!

I really want to go this year.

Do you guys tend to go for admission only tickets - or plus grandstand?

:)

I prefer to just wander about rather than sit in the grandstands. I spend more time in the paddock than anywhere else.

Sounds familiar. The grandstand tickets are a waste of time unless you want to sit in the same place all weekend. There are plenty of freely accessible terraces for GA tickets although the ones opposite the house tend to get pinched by folk with camping chairs which really bugs me.

I shall be there again, deffo friday, and maybe Saturday. Fabulous weekend and well worth the ticket prices, better value than the Grand prix for instance.

ive been considering it with some mates, as i can get discount on tix through work, aparently they dont time the runs anymore, which is stupid, the competitive element would be part of it for me, im not into people doing "demo" wave at the crowds runs, i wanna see some exotic machinery going flat chat trying to beat other cars (pikes peak 405t16 will be there this year....)

I am not sure anyone told Nigel mansell that last year when he put one in the haybales right in front of us! ME?!?! No, Of course, the camera was back inthe bag :bang:

There are still quite a few timed runs but it's down to probably 25% of the entries, less in the more exotic classes. That said most folk don't hang about, the F1 boys play to the crowds a bit but by and large even the demo runs are pretty quick.

You don't get it this wrong going slowly!
