Here are some more from my easter expo.

The sunrise was after climbing to 2100ft in the dark @ 5:30am to catch it. It was freezing cold and my feet and hands were suffering badly. I began to wonder what the hell I was doing and then I cleared the summit ridge and....

The pictures cannot really show it's real beauty or the feeling I had when I was greated by it's majasty.

Another great series - if I were to guess the location I'd go with the Moelwyns ??

BTW - have a quick look in that French dictionary ;)

Yep good guess you know the area well I have no doubt but that only account's for the first two. Guess where the rest were taken for extra points :)

Yeah the Duex was stuck in my mind from a old computer game for some reason

They are all excellent, but I am partial to number 5. I'm a sucker for sunrise/sunset shots

Incredible shots once again. I understand what you mean about not being able to capture the "full effect" of being up there and seeing it for real, but you've done a pretty damn good job with those photos - I think my jaw dropped ever so slightly as I scrolled down!

Hmmm,

Bit more difficult - the sunrise gave the location away a little on the first shots as did the the terrain, quite distinctive the Moelwyns.

Looking at shot 6 it looks like the back way up to the Glyders from Ogwen but then 8 makes me think the view in the distance could be across towards Dinorwig which then makes me think you're on the way up Snowdon from Llanberis - no, not sure - you got me

I won't hold you in suspence :)

It's the rhinog's. Craig Wion and onto Rhinog Fawr. I tried to keep away from the hot spots considering it was easter weekend. I headed for the lake on the OS but it was a little to sheltered to include it in many shots :(

Thanks mate . I am looking into bivi tents and wild camping gear. With the summer approaching and the sunrises earlier and earlier I need to camp out on the tops. I won't be happy till I get something really special :)

Love # 1 & 7, you do like to get up early don't you. Looks another place I have to visit, your pics are encouraging me to get off my fat lazy a__s and back up into the wild. Thanks
Ian

PS was thinking of digging out the bivvy bag myself and going wild for a few days next time I go.

Yes get up there mate. I just brought me a huge rucksack so I can stick me tent and sleeping bag in it. It weighs an absolute ton with all my gear in it but now I can sleep on the tops and awake to sunrise without extreme early drive in and lung squeezing rush up the mountain side :)

I may well do it tommorow ;)

I'm planning on just using a bivvy bag and my sleeping bag, weight is a lot less and it dry and warm even if it rains. Dug out my old bergan, not packed it yet but will be a little heavy when you get food and rations in there. Still a good idea to stay overnight. Enjoy.
Ian :bonk: probably mad
