Hmmmm... I see I'm going to have to fend off a few people here...well, don't need a 400L or a 300L...so I guess I might be looking at different things!

I wouldn't mind his 580EX but that's depending on the price he's asking for it. God, it's turned into a bidding war already! Nah, I'm just kidding. Going to Focus on the weekend so I should save my pennies :D

Got to disagree with that I'm afraid, it's full of opinionated Yanks who cannot take any kind of critique.

Hi Tony
Yes i got in touch with Nikon's UK business to business manager. I gave her a list of my kit and its condition, along with a list of the Nikon Kit i wanted and she gave me a quote listing the Trade in values of my kit and the cash amount needed to make up the difference
Awesome, after I saw that you were borrowing a D3s I guessed you would be looking to move to Nikon, some of the pics posted lately, the iso performance and tack sharp focusing without the need for MA, have really been showcasing the Nikon capabilities

Exactly, for what i shoot now which is 99% sports Nikon are streets ahead. From what i have seen the loss of crop by moving to Full frame really isn't an issue. In fact from what i have seen full frame will have an advantage over crops because you will have more time to frame and shoot a goal or celebration shot with the long prime before you need to switch to the 2nd body.
I took shots on thursday night at 12,800 ISO which would be perfectly usable in print and in colour for web usage.
The D3S just felt right in my hand too, the controls are more intuitive IMHO

Andy, looks like a great collection. I am sure you will enjoy using it all, I know they are tools for a job but it's still nice to have them. I think you should add a AFS 50mm f1.4 to your shopping list they are brilliant !! Very jealous of the 400mm though :)

Is that the Nikon AF-S II 400mm f/2.8 ED-IF or the VR version Andy, cant really tell from that pic, the Non VR is the best Nikon lens ever the AF is so fast and accurate you wont beleive it and its sharper than the VR version too.

VR version Gary, need to find some (un)willing subjects to test it on tomorrow. Been playing with the 24-70 and 70-200 in low light tonight, WOW :D
