Hi
just got myself a d40x to start off with but looking to buy some decent lenses. doing a friends wedding in few months so would like the lens for that.
I want to buy a lens in mind that would be perfect for a d90 later should i upgrade
Also external flash for d40x too.
Thanks

Do you have a budget in mind for your purchases?

I'd maybe get a 16-85VR as it's got a very good range unless you have a bigger budget in which case faster glass

cheers for the quick replys, also what does faster glass mean?
It means having a lower minimum F number which means the lens can collect more light and therefore is useful in (amongst other things) indoor situations where you don't want to use a flash, i.e. a wedding.

"Faster glass" means lenses that have a larger maximum aperture so they let more light in. More light means you can use a quicker shutter speed, hence the term "faster glass".
I use a Nikon D40x and bought this lens in September. http://www.parkcameras.com/9301/Tamron-AF-18-200mm-f-3-5-6-3-XR-Di-II-LD--IF--MACRO--Nikon-fit-.html
I have been very pleased with it so far and took these snaps at a friends wedding in October with it, just to give you an idea.
