View Full Version : I learnt a very valuable lesson today
Took some absolutely spot-on, never-to-be-taken-again shots of a baby frog this afternoon. Was feeling pretty chuffed with myself indeed. The little frog jumped off the lilly it had been sat on, so I sat up to admire my handy work on the LCD.
What was I greeted with? "No CF Card"
It was all I could do not to hurl the blasted thing across the garden.
Moral of the story?
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BLOODY CF CARD IN THE CARD READER AT HOME!!!!!  :P
Ouch,I've done the same thing more than once. :( I've always got mine set not to take if there's no CF card inserted nowadays.

possibly the most pointless function to appear on a camera EVER,
it's also the reason why my 20D won't fire without a card in.
sorry to hear about the missed photo ops though, maybe in future you'll consider the importance of the six P's.
:D
I went to Santa Pod today for a VW event. Found I'd left both of my camera batteries at home :(
I think most of us have done that before.
And you know what they say,"You learn by your mistakes".
Hopefully you will never do it again.
shutter release w/o CF card has now been disabled :)
Joe T - I completely feel your pain!
Joe T - I completely feel your pain!
Thanks :) I feel yours too. Sucks dont it? :(
It sucks hard :(
However, I managed to make up for it later on, by taking a shot I was extremely chuffed with.... nearly dropped my camera in the pond whilst I was at it though

You have much to learn my directionally challenged feline.
;)
Ahhh my Chestorian friend, you are slightly mistaken.
It should be the 7 P's.
Proper Preparation and Planning, Prevent P*** Poor Performance.
When I've been out shooting, I come home and a ritual kicks in. Card out, in reader, copy files across, card back in camera.
Until the card is back 'home', I leave the camera sat infront of me with the slot open, as a reminder.
