Hello everyone I guess there is no better way to get to know you all than to post a picture

So here's one I made earlier (yesterday really)
Feeling a bit snap happy and got this

Nice pic but background distracts. Either reshoot with better bokeh or train those PS skills :lol:

Joking apart you can use flash to balance the sun to good effect in outdoor shots. I placed a 540EZ on a tripod and used a cheap ebay wireless trigger to achieve this shot;

I completely agree with you flash is great for filling shadows on bright days.:thumbs:

Unfortunately I was about 40ft away and it was just a spur of the moment snapshot, not setup in any way.

In the original shot, you don't need a flash or backdrop to make the background less distracting. Just lower your aperture as much as possible (f/2.8 or so if you can) and blur it to minimize it.

Really would improve on a great moment.
