How can you tell the total number of actuations. Some time back I changed the settings from auto-reset to continuous. Camera currently shows 125-2510. I assume the 2510, is the number of shots since reset, but what does the 125 stand for ?
I suspect my total number is about 5000, but would like to know for sure, prior to a possible sale.

That software won't work for the 10D, on most consumer models the shutter actuations are not available.
The shutter counter will not be displayed (or will be displayed as "0") on the 1D*, 5D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 300D, 350D, and 400D.
It is said on this and various other sites that Canon themselves can give you this information! How true, I don't know!

Irfanview should let you view the shutter count (you may need to download the exif plugin but it's free)
