I have had little time to get out and about and was almost losing the drive to get out and do something! To get me going I revisited some shots from last year that I was initially unhappy with to see if my improved PS skills could make something of them.
I am quite happy with this; especially given the poor starting point on this shot however I open it to you guys for C&C which would be most welcome.

I agree, the lighting really creates that 'spaced' feeling. Nice work Gary. :thumbs:
I do like this but I must say the two rocks at the front look as if they have been placed there in PP, I don't know if it's the texture, sharpness or whatever, but they don't look 'real'.

I didn't notice that at first, but now you've mentioned it, I'm inclined to agree.

Thanks for the feedback boys. I see what you mean too Colin, think this is a result of sharpening when reducing as this is not so obvious on the original.
Off to a Sports dinner now with Fred Macaulay as after dinner speaker - hope he doesn't sing! :(

Lovely , but do agree about the rocks
I like this, too. There is so many shades of grey between the highlights and shadows. Great image, Gary.
What everyone else said and I like it :)

Good morning all. Back home and catching up on comments before I get up at 6am and drive my son 4 hours south to a mountain bike competition (dad's work and all that). Glad to see you are generally in favour of this pic! :thumbs:
Best joke tonight came from Chick Young (you southers won't probably know him);
"I wanted to do something romantic for my partner so I bought her a fur coat made from the skins of 300 hamsters. Then i took her to Blackpool for a romantic break but she was never off the Big Wheel!" :lol:
G'night.

Exactly what I thought - real feeling of depth to it. Nice picture.:clap:

I like it, very contrasty and good composition. Although as Hacker says the rock esp the one on the front left looks as though it's floating ! Not sure if it's cos of the sharpening but it just seems odd :shrug:
Nice one. I'd definately have it on my wall!
I think the resizing has oversharpened it a bit though.
Still wish I'd taken it though (adds to list for next scotland visit ;) )
