This photo was taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5700 a couple of years ago at a sea life center on a trip we took to Virginia beach. The croc was completely under water (except for his nose) but really close to the glass. The tank was also at floor level so the shot was made even more awkward as I had to shoot with the camera about 12 inches from the ground. Pressing the camera against the glass for stability, shutter speed was 1/4 of a second - shot without flash to capture the detail in his eye.
It's not as sharp as I would have liked but some of this is attributable to the refraction of the water as well as the poor conditions under which I took the shot. Over all though, it came out pretty well but I would have loved a DSLR for the shot at the time!
