After much deliberation and advice seeking I settled on the Kenko pro 300 DX 1.4 over the sigma
as it "seemed likely" that it would work "unmolested" with my 400D + 70-300 f4-5.6 is usm lens. (canon)

Well yes it does Auto focus across a wide range of f.stops. Well it did today at least in the brilliant sunshine.
Though at f20 it was about as quick as a tortoise on tranquilisers and refused to AF at f22.

At 70mm and f5.6 AF it was fractionally slower, I would say, than without the TC'

Across the f range in all but strong light it did hunt around briefly and the resulting images did seem a little softer
than usual but that may have been down to me mucking around and using top end f stops "for the hell of it"

At 300mm (+ TC) the AF hunted more than I thought it should but generally settled on target.

The surprising thing was no noticeable difference in AF across the range with my 100mm f2.8 usm macro (canon)
( apart from the loss of one stop of course) Focusing was just as rapid with or without the TC.

To be perfectly honest I would say that its a cheap means to an end.
Is it a keeper? for now, yes
In the future I guess that when I have saved my pennies for a decent prime or tele lens,
circa 400mm prime or 100-400mm etc then I guess I will sell the 70-300 with the KenkoC

Price and delivery
£51 + £18 P&P (inc insurance) from Kea-photo Hong Kong AND it took less than 5 days to arrive
I bought it on the 9th @ 21:00 and it arrived before 09:00 on the 14th that's rapid as far as I am concerned
I have had Items take longer within the UK

Cheers Paul I will post a few in the near future "un molested" The ones I took today were basically crap as I was just messing around with the AF / f stops etc, just trying to get to grips with it. "
