apologies for the poor picture, but I cant see these in my gardening books, anyone know what they are?

they are on the lillies!? are they a foe?
kill them, or you wont have any lillies left :)
Lily Beetles UGH! I hate them cos I love my lilies :)
They'll make short work of your lilies if you don't squish em!

Cheers! not my garden fortunately, I will give the gardener some advice, I planted these lillies for them a few years ago and they come up every year bigger than before. I hope they will continue!

I lost a load of Lillies to these damn beetles, couple of years back.
We have lilies and lily beetles.
I wouldn't kill them myself just for the sake of saving a plant.
