The 2007 competition takes the theme of 'All creatures great and small'.
Photographs should be taken in the UK and have the natural world or the countryside at their heart.
Chris Packham and Jo Brand will be judging and the best will be featured in the 2008 Countryfile calendar sold in aid of Children In Need.
The closing date is 7 September 2007.
If you have some time to spare tomorrow morning, the programme is looking at the final 12 photos selected. I had a call on Thursday from a BBC researcher saying that one of mine had reached the final 12 and will be published in the calendar.

Thats fantastic Milou! Congrats :)
Way to go! milou and Richard.
Which photo's do we look out for?
Cheers! And good news Richard. I was really flattered too that I'd been chosen, and then promptly jabbered on to the researcher about photoblogging for the next 40 mins.
(I had one of a cow and a fly. Although the colour version was never on the blog (only a desaturated cropped one), the Beeb was more "comfortable" with it being removed).

Mine was of a sheep in mid 'flight' off a mound of grass. I had to remove it form flickr whilst the compo is open but then it can go back.
Looking forward to seeing the programme tomorrow :)

Well done you two and good luck,
Cheers. In mine, the Beeb seems to have scanned in a smudge just above the fly (but it does look like another one :D).

Countryfile Photographic Competition
Thanks to everyone who voted for their favourite photograph in this year's competition themed around 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
There was a clear winner – 'Spring Lamb' taken by Richard Peters from Hayes, Middlesex. 'Wet and Wild' was declared the judges' favourite. The image was captured by Kenneth Drysdale from Carnoustie, near Dundee.
Both photos are now hanging in the library of the Linnean Society in London, one of the world's most important natural history collections and the venue for this year's judging.
The winning photos, and all the other finalists, feature in a Countryfile calendar for 2008 which is being sold in aid of the BBC's Children in Need appeal. The calendar costs £9.
To order a copy of the 2008 calendar:
* Call the order line on 0870 062 3600 (Calls cost 6p from a BT landline. Mobiles and other networks may vary)
* Send cheques to: BBC Countryfile Calendar, PO Box 25, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE13 1ZG (Don't forget to give your name and address and please make cheques payable to BBC Countryfile Calendar)
* You can also order online via the Hallmark website (https://www.hcsonline.co.uk/countryfile2008/home/index.asp)
Last year we sold a record 59,000 calendars and raised £248,110 for the Children In Need. We hope to donate at least £4 from the sale of each calendar to the charity.

Thanks all!! I'm really pleased as you can imagine! Bit odd seeing myself on tv looking bewildered (had NO idea what was going on at first haha).
:)
And how many monitors did you have in front of you? Good job you weren't checking the forums when Ben came through the door.
Quite an achievement, well done!
Ken Drysdale is treasurer of our camera club & is very modest about his work. I think it is a superb shot. Well done Ken

Thanks again all, really chuffed. Wet and Wild was my favourite, great shot. I had a good look at the print of it whilst we were filming. Lovely shot, I'd be thrilled if it were mine! :)
